Dear Madame?

Please accept our deep and sincere sympathy in your heavy bereavement. We were extremely sorry to receive your letter this morning. We do not like to trouble you with any business matters at this sorrowful time, further than to assure you that any interest your late husband has in anything that we can carry through, shall be yours.

Of course, his lamented death has placed us in a very difficult position, in as much as parties who were going to find the money on the condition of his going out to take the management of it, we fear will not now do so, & further, our own intimate friends that were joining us in finding a portion of such funds, having a knowledge of your late husband's reliability and integrity, we are afraid will also decline. However, should we succeed in getting, as we before said, the undertaking through, we shall carry out any promises that we made to your late husband in its integrity. Again we assuring you of your deep and sincere sympaty.

We are, Dear Madame?
Yours faithfully
